New Managing Director at the Norwegian Training Centre - Manila

Erlend Grimstad (47) has been appointed Managing Director at the Norwegian Training Centre - Manila (NTC-M). Grimstad is a trained lawyer and has experience from Norwegian politics and business.

Grimstad has 8 years’ experience in the industry group Umoe and has also been a member of the board at Unitor ASA, Bergen Group ASA and member of the corporate assembly in Statoil. Through this work, he has gained a good knowledge of the maritime industry.

Grimstad has been a political adviser and Deputy Minister in the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy (2000 to 2003). He also served as Deputy Minister and State Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture (2013). Grimstad has also been political advisor in the Norwegian Parliament.

Grimstad lived in Manila in the period of 2008-2011, where he was the CEO of Intex Resources ASA.

Grimstad has since 2014 run his own law firm. He`s first day at work will be 01.09.2015

The Norwegian Training Center - Manila (NTC-M) was established by the Norwegian Shipowners' Association (NSA) in order to provide relevant and qualified training for Filipino seafarers serving on the ships of its members.
