Viggo is an attorney-at-law and the Executive Director of the Norwegian Shipowners’ Association’s Department of Labour and Legal affairs and Competence Development. He is Chairman of the Maritime Law Committee of the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) and also chairs the Legal Advisory Committee of the European Community Shipowners’ Association (ECSA).   

Viggo obtained his law degree from the University of Oslo in 1987 and joined the Norwegian Shipowners’ Association in 1994. Prior to that, he worked for the Haavind law firm for four years. He has lectured in public law at the University of Oslo among other educational institutions and regularly serves as an examiner in maritime law and other legal subjects. He was admitted to the Supreme Court of Norway in 2010.
