Hege is an attorney-at-law working primarily with labour law and collective bargaining issues for shipping both nationally and internationally. She is secretary of the Norwegian Shipowners’ Association’s Subsea Contractors Group, as well as the association's representative on the European Community Shipowners’ Association (ECSA)’s Social Affairs Committee and in the Sectoral social dialogue for Maritime transport in the EU. She is also Managing Director of Stiftelsen Norsk Maritim Kompetanse (SNMK). 

Hege completed her law degree at the University of Oslo in 2002 and joined the Norwegian Shipowners’ Association in 2005. She previously worked as an advisor in the Directorate for Labour.
