UN Sustainable Development Goals
The world is transforming at a fast pace - population growth and climate change are already profoundly affecting people's everyday lives. Changes in the demographic and political landscape challenge established governance structures, balance of power and the economy. Escalating global debt levels and sluggish growth in many of the world’s richest countries could lead to secular stagnation in these economies. This is accompanied by a wave of populism and protectionism, sweeping many parts of the world. These trends threaten the progress of globalisation.
These global trends, hand-in-hand with the impacts of new technology, change the landscape of international business and governments all over the world.
The United Nations Global Development Goals point out concrete targets for the world to meet by 2030. The private sector needs to share these ambitions, and innovate and invest in solutions leading the world forward. We believe that the Oceans, covering 70 percent of the planet, harbour the potential for new growth with low emissions. We believe that the combination of local innovation and a global market, with equal playing rules, can accelerate industry wide solutions needed for all of the 17 SDG's.
